I climb upon a mountain
in the shade of a taller mountain…
the hills and valleys come and go,
I need to stop countin’.
In the deep, dark valley of two mountains
I stumble upon a hole
and I am caught within a crevice
that will not let me go.
I am far beyond the mountains
in a river down below
(way, way down below)
Behind me yesterday
before:
so long ago.
A rushing moving river, a ride to take along
Before me is tomorrow.
Begin:
so far to go.
In the current of an ocean
on a quiet, desolate beach
I take a long, forgiving swim
Find a riptide and a breach
Then I trek into a forest
beyond the forest of my limbs
I trudge over, under, through a swamp
the swamp of my true whims.
Next, I am thirsting through a desert
the desert of my thirst
Thirsting for love and belonging
I really need to burst
In the sky of my be-longing
I want to fly free just as a bird
and be set free on the flight of my future
I give you my true word.
